The reader store will not download my purchased books. Do I need to register the computer?

I have had great difficulty with reader store not having used it for a while as I have been putting other stories and documents on my PRS600. After many hours trying I got my account password etc sorted out and my adobe one too so that I could get in to the account and see the books I had purchased. I have lost the booksI had on my reader now and have had to delete them as it said my computer is not authorised. I do not know how to ask for my money back. It basically let me buy books I cannot acces. Under manage my device my e book reader is shown twice and there is no where to click to deauthorise one of them. It says my computer is not registered .I have spent 6 hours trying and all Sony says is reinstall the software but I do not know how uninstall it and besides I would lose the entire library would I not? Any suggestions

The first thing you need to do is install Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) on your PC and set up an Adobe ID. This process will authorise your PC.

Then you plug your reader into your PC, open ADE. Then using ADE you authorise the reader.

Now any books purchased on your PC will work on your reader.

Both PC and reader must use the same Adobe ID. If they do not match, books purchased on your PC will not be readable on your reader. A reader can only be authorised to one adobe ID.

Thank you so much for trying to help. I have the ADE already as I have an adobe ID which now works although it took me on Bank holiday monday when I was tryin gto get the ebook reader store to work seveal hours to get an Adobe ID and eventually got it through an online chat. this now works to get into my account on ebook store but nothing else works. On the ADE on my computer I notice my computer is authorised but there is no where to authorise the Reader. The reader is shown on the ebook reader as being authorised twice but there is no where to click to unauthorise one of my devices. I t hink the ebook store for Sony simply does n ot work as a websire

They have suggested that I uninstall and then reinstall the reader library. I am going to my local apple store tomorrow to get them to show me h ow to do this. I really do not understand why I have ADE which has a library you can store books too but I download things to my reader library on the computer and then in to my reader library on the device. gosh this is confusing.

I think you may have mis understood my question which meant to mean does the computer have to be autorised on the ebook store account i have.

I have asked for my money back as I go the books instead from another company and was able to download them in to the reader library.

Can you store books on the ADE library and transfer them to the reader device? I am not sure how anyone finds time to learn all of this. Let me know what you think ahd I will report back to see what happens when I do all this installing and reinstalling etc.! Many thanks lorneslady
