I'm having issues with a number of landscape photos being out of focus on a DSC-HX400 both on intelligent auto and superior auto.

What is the best mode to take a landscape photograph on this camera?

Hi Simon,

Have you used a long focal lenght (zoomed in)? In this case blur might be caused by camera shake.

I would recommend using a tripod and set shutter speed to 1/focal lenght (e.g. at 200 mm use 1/200sec or shorter) to avoid blurry images.
