I believe its not possible, however, under the bigger slot, there is external power socket ... What cable to use with it, i dont know.

Just plug in a usb cable that's connected to a power source other than a computer.

It works for my AS100 using a samsung mobile phone charger.

I think the camera is fussy about the usb input. If the input isn't clean it seems to think that data is being sent to it and so switches to USB mode.

Try with a 5v 1 amp charger.

The alternative method is to use Sony's non-usb cable, but it probably costs a lot knowing Sony.

Thanks for that... I couldn't get it work with any other power cable. I'll give it another go.

Don't forget to turn USB power on in the setup menu.
