Fdr-x3000 turn on but screen remains blank and camera beeps every 15 secs-

When I turn on camera- screen remains blank and camera beeps every 15 seconds. only way to stop beeping is to remove battery. tried multiple times with same result. so camera was unusable for last 8 days of holiday.

Hello @jpa1959,

did you insert the SD card correctly? Take the card out and try if you can turn the camera on.

If that works, insert the card so the contacts face the cameras side, which has the LC-Display on it and make sure the card is put in stright and not at an angle.

Also do you turn on the camera with the on/off button or are you trying to initiate a recording from standby with the rec-button?

I was using camera fine with no issues - then went to turn it on next day but screen remains blank and camera beeps every 15 secs. - managed to get all my videos off SD card by inserting card into my PC. reinserted SD card into camera. but problem still exists.

I have always turned camera on before pressing record button.

When I removed SD card and copied off all my video files I scanned SD card. and formatted it before re-inserting into camera.

Please help. any ideas what problem could be?
