NWZ-A846 screen dead, music plays, reset no worky worky

Hi all, NWZ-A846 (32gb)

Literally turned it on and the screen is dead. Audio works, connection to PC via USB (have backed up all to laptop), volume works, hold works....

Only one button that doesn't work! (Wish I didn't give the surprise away in the title lol!)

So yeah, holding the reset button for 2, 5, 10, 30 secs+ and nothing changes. Same situation, plug it back into the laptop with USB and the music is still there....

My perceived options:

1) Hold the reset button - no result

2) Let the battery run down, recharge and see? No result

3) Update the firmware - does this model have firmware to reinstall? I can only find content transfer 1.3?

So I have no clue what to do. Help!
