Very low volume and huge battery consumption

Have had the phone for a week and sadly the love for it is low. Two major issues

- The phone volume is so low i cant hear it ring most of the time and video calls are impossible to do (yes its all the way up)

- The battery consumption is very high - it wont even last a day with low internet useage, minimal calls (about 4 short ones)

What can you suggest?

Try software repair using Xperia companion
This might be due to some power consuming garbage in your phone which would be removed and you'll start loving the phone

Thanks. Companion is not availble via the Play Store. I have changed a few settings re screen brightness and time out which helps a bit

The speaker is terrible. I've changed the ring tone but not much better. Video calls are impossible. Is there a setting i'm missing? I thought it was supposed to be an amazing speaker!
