Hardware buttons stop working?

If I listen to music and use e-mail my three hardware buttons stop responding. The touch screen still functions but you cannot use the hardware buttons! If you let the phone sit for a considerable amount of time they become active again. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? The phone is brand new! I haven't even had it for two weeks.

Run it, it will erase everything saved on your phone (not the SD card) but if you want to back up everything, download the newest version of Back Up & Restore app.

I spoke to soon. Tried to take a photo and it wouldn't and now hardware keys are inactive again.

you might have a faulty X10, you might want to take it back to the store or your carrier.

I maybe jumping at shadows now. The update seems to have helped. I have a gel case for the phone and it seems to be applying pressure to the side button that is pressed to take a photo. The zoom doesn't operate unless the case is lifted slightly to relieve the pressure on the photo button. So in short camera function is all good. The update has definitely solved my issues. Thanks again.

another thing I will recommend

go to

Settings

Applications

Unknown Sources (make sure is checked/selected)

Go to the market and download ASTRO File Manager

now go to this link

Download

Gallery_x10.apk

Music_x10.apk

once you download them, transfer them to your phone's memory card

Open Astro File manager

Go to your SD card and look for Gallery_x10.apk tap on it

a window will pop up saying

Application File

Browse File

Open App Manager (tab on this one)

on the top left corner click on Install.

repeat this for Music_x10.apk.

what you'll get is a really awesome Gallery picture viewer, that Sony Ericsson deleted from Android. and what's great about this over Mediascape is that you can Pinch-zoom in the pictures.

Awesome. Thanks uliwooly. I'll do that. I've just cut out small holes in my gel case for the buttons on the side. It makes taking a photo a little more difficult but at least the buttons won't be pushed inadvertently and affect other functions.
