Hello,

My friend's father just bought him Xperia M2 D2303, But i noticed somthing i didn't see before.

what is this?

This screen appears each time i turn the mobile on or off.. I want to know what is it? i don't think it's an app!

O2 is a network carrier from UK.

If you don't want the o2 branding then you'll have to manually flash a generic firmware but as it's branded then it maybe network locked to o2

Yeah but i'm in Egypt, and i don't want O2, i just want my normal sony! did his father paid for this O2?

can you tell me more about this O2? i can't understand anything from their website

Your device is locked to that network or has a firmware from O2.

So, i can normaly insert sim card and ignore this O2 thing or i should pay them anything?

If you insert a SIM and the device is network locked,you won't be able to use it (unless you have a SIM from O2). You would need to buy an unlock code from O2 and insert it (if you have tries left).

You can, or follow thommo's suggestion and flash the phone. you can get the code from O2 or unlock4cheap

The code is if you can't use the phone with a non O2 SIM card.

If your in Egypt and it is a obviously a UK device are you sure it's not a stolen/lost phone. Not saying it is just seems strange that its a o2 phone in Egypt. As without contacting o2 to get it unlocked it won't work on another network especially in Egypt. Once unlocked it is just a case of flashing the unbranded ftf via flashtool

Nup, it's not stolen, my father's friend was travelling in china or something and he bought it and brought it to my friend, by the way sim worked normally.

It could be unlocked with a O2 firmware.
