Try clearing the cached data (under Device Preferences - Storage - Internal Shared Storage - Cached data) then restarting with the power button.

Prior to the recent firmware release for the KD-48A9 I had experienced a bug once whereby there was no sound on live TV. a full Android restart restored sound. I See this listed as a fix in the latest firmware, which I do have installed. Yet the no sound problem happened again today.

I noticed that if I tuned to any HD channel there was no sound, but tuning to an SD channel did produce sound. Going back to an HD channel again - and no sound.

Pressing and holding the power button and selecting restart fixed it.

I have logged a ticket with Sony support.

Have you tried clearing the cached data and restarting the TV? Or the basics of unplugging, disconnecting everything, etc.?
