Hi,

does anyone know if a non external powered (basically a USB powered) USB HDD can be used on my Bravia TV KD49X8005CBU?

It depends on how many ampere it consumes, normally under 1TB (and 0,5 A) there should be no problem. Basically the answer is yes

Hi there

If using a USB powered drive, it should be fine using the 2.5" drives. With the larger 3.5", its best its used via main power adaptor.
